What is a Public Record?
Under the Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56)members of the public have the right to request records held by state agencies. However, requests must be for identifiable records that exist at the time the request is submitted. General inquiries or requests for information are not considered valid requests for public records.
No Obligation to Create New Records
State agencies, including SKFR, are not required to create new records in response to requests. This includes the creation of lists, reports, summaries, spreadsheets, or data files that did not exist at the time the request was made.
Fire Investigations:
Cannot be found through South Kitsap Fire and Rescue(SKFR) all fire investigation reports can be retrieved from Kitsap County Fire Marshals Office
Medical Records:
A Patient Authorization Form must be completed by the requestor or their Representative and must be accompanied by their Photo ID. Representatives must provide proof of legal access such a Power of Attorney. SKFR Pt Authorization Form.pdf
Underground Storage Tanks:
